The other day a sister gave me an amazing insight. I was wowed by it and thought I would share it with you today. It is about love being our only answer and what can prevent us from accessing that love is the great “I KNOW!” Thinking we know is a block to loves flow.
This is what she said, “The Pharisees were full of “I know” which only shuts down love. The great “I know” is our protection to guard ourselves from love. God is nothing but LOVE and our wall is to the love.”
Being Vulnerable to LOVE
WOW! To receive love we have to be vulnerable to Love. To receive love from God we have to come open handed and not sullied by thinking we know anything. Thinking is telling, but our God needs our listening not knowing. Oh how awesome is it that the Lord annihilates all our “knowing” to love us. To think we know is to erect a barrier in our heart against Love’s flow.
Does this mean I go about empty headed? No, certainly not. But what it does mean is I remain open to Love’s flow how He wishes to bring it.
When Jesus came, He came to LOVE—to love His Father and love for those the Father chose to show love. The religious of the day, rejected that love by pushing it aside for what they thought they knew. Their thinking would not be challenge! Their commitment to their assumed knowledge over love was total. The religious of the day squeezed out any possibility for love to express love. Their knowledge would not be questioned. They exalted their knowledge up against the knowledge of God. They would not be vulnerable to the presence of love because love disrupted their religious equilibrium.
Love Can Disregulate
Love always comes to rock the boat. Love disregulates all that purports to be more important than Love. The long story short….Love is the highest most powerful attribute and characteristic of God. The word says, we are NOTHING without love.
If I speak with the eloquence of men and of angels, but have no love, I become no more than blaring brass or crashing cymbal. If I have the gift of foretelling the future and hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but the very secrets of God, and if I also have that absolute faith which can move mountains, but have no love, I amount to nothing at all. If I dispose of all that I possess, yes, even if I give my own body to be burned, but have no love, I achieve precisely nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 PHILLIPS
Here is another aspect of love. Love comes before service. Love is more important than service. If service comes out of love it’s beautiful, if service is the focus the word says it is pointless, futile and dead.
Constantly love each other and be committed to serve one another.
