God Tells His Children What He is Doing

With much confusion and chaos circling our world right now many are struggling to maintain their faith. I can’t tell you I haven’t been hit with this. If I did I would be lying. Daily I am having to seek our Father’s face and focus on Him not the circumstance. This has been a daily work, not just with the political uncertainty, but I have other situations in my life which require my faith in Christ over fear of circumstance.

Do you remember a post I did a while back during another crisis of faith? In it the Lord told me, “Don’t look at what is happening, look at what I AM doing!” Talk about an ultimate test of faith. While irrefutable evidence was being delivered, I had to say, but this is not what the Lord is on. It was tough then and it’s tough now. Maintaining faith is no cake walk, it is a testing of our merits, which reveals in who we believe. And this doesn’t happen in a vacuum, it happens while the enemy is screaming to look aside.

A faithful man is a focused man. You can’t have faith if you have no focus. To maintain faith in a crisis you have to center your attention on the Faithful One. Faith is not to remain unaffected, it is to stand regardless of effects. And how we do this is continually redirecting our gaze back upon Jesus.

In this Moment He Tells His Children

In this Moment He Tells His Children
I have told you the principle, but what about this moment. Here is something I know of the crisis we are in right now. Our Heavenly Father tells His children what He is doing. The Word clearly reveals in multiple places that our God is not stiff lipped. As a Father He reveals His heart and His mind. He shows us what we are to believe Him for. It isn’t like He has to reveal every step of the process, this wouldn’t require faith. And without faith we can’t please Him. But He does tell us what we can have faith in. He discloses where He is moving—the “what” He is doing rather than “what” is happening.

Surely the Lord God will do nothing without revealing His secret to His servants the prophets.
Amos 3:7 AMPC

As a child of God, we must seek Christ. We aren’t relegated to conjecture and presumption, He wants to tell us what He is doing. So am I saying I have a specific word about the outcome of all this? No, though I have asked God, He has not divulged this personally to me. What He has told me is who HE is in this crisis.

As long as I am polling multiple sources for the answers, I am distancing myself from the actual Answer. Of course I am going to check in from time to time to hear what is going on. At this point in our culture, I think that is unavoidable. My phone, my watch, my TV and computer all team with information just begging for my glance. But I can tell you I am very selective in whose voice I give my ear.

Faith in the NOW

Faith in the NOW
Right now I am adhering my faith of the outcome on the hearing of other children of God. I am trusting He did speak, because He does speak and tells His children what He is doing. But my ultimate faith in the rough waves of this circumstance sea is that HE is King! He is reigning. He rules ALL.

I have written about this all in my book The Sovereign Touch. I specifically deal with governments, both corrupt and righteous. In this moment, I am being tested to whom I will focus and what will I believe. Faith has to be tested, or it isn’t faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This means my facts are in Him not in the findings of man.

No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have learned from My Father I have made known to you.
John 15:15

Here is a secret question in my heart: I am wondering if a sleepy church has now been poked awake because of an extreme overreach, and now we are seeing her loudly proclaiming Christ unabashedly as a backlash. I guess we will see…

In trial & testing, who’s WHO, & what’s WHAT! “Yet again there will be heard in this place..you say..is a desolate waste..the voice of the bridegroom & the voice of the bride.” Jeremiah had–pointedly–learned the integrity & intention of God…to be on God’s side, BE God’s. Out from surrounding ruin there would be ‘answers to prayer’. He was to buy land, by right of redemption…land over-run by the enemy. By obeying, he valued what God valued…the promised inheritance. (Well guarded by God.) I’ve been singing his prayer. It’s my instruction: ‘always look at WHO GOD IS’. Not how things seem,… Read more »

Excellent word John. Thank you for the reminder. And regardless of what we see with the eye, God will accomplish his word!
