Tracking Your Package

Any of us who has found themselves tracking our package online does it to see where our parcel was last scanned and when the package will be delivered. Whether we’re using UPS, FedEx or even USPS, all these shippers have a system in place to scan and track the packages through their shipping process. Bar code readers beep as the packages are scanned and the information is uploaded into a huge tracking system. The reason for this is that these shippers have taken responsibility for the handling and delivery of millions of parcels. They’re paid for dependability and reliability. If they fail to meet the customer’s expectations, they will lose the business.

Where’s My Package

We’ve become so dependent on these delivery services. Could you imagine them not working? I live in the North Georgia Mountains. If I want to buy even the most basic thing, I have to drive round trip at least an hour and a half. With gas prices what they are, not to mention my time, it’s just easier to go to my computer and pull up Amazon.com in my browser. With Amazon Prime, my products are guaranteed in 2 days or even tomorrow if I pay a small fee. It’s just a no-brainer for me. Without the delivery system in place, my supply train would run off the tracks.

So you say, “Why the Amazon commercial, John?” Because I’m seeing that God too scans packages to track His progress of delivery. We are His packages, which He has taken complete responsibility for handling and delivering us. I see that each point on the route of our lives is scanned as if to put His seal on it. Each event is scanned and uploaded (hehehe).

When I look back upon my life, I see that God’s movement is the only consistency. He’s the mark of my life! Now that I know Him intimately (and really, even when I didn’t), my tracking manifest shows He has been handling me for delivery.

I am the Package

I told a young lady years ago, when you come to know the Lord and look back on your life, you will see that He’s been speaking to you the entire time. She might not now be given access to the tracking records, but when she’s His, it will be undeniable.

Our God is working His system to deliver us into His hands. And as His born-again child who loves Him, all my life events bear His seal of approval. They are all scan points in my tracking manifest to delivery. Scan points are literally where the package is touched, acknowledged, and directed.  I have many such points in my life, some of them daily. All my life bears the Mark of the Deliverer. Even my delivery exceptions (sins and failures) have worked together towards my delivery.

We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

God is Tracking My Life

He’s called me and I love Him, so He works all of my life together for His purpose. Romans 8:28 doesn’t say only the good things or the things I like but ALL things fit into His plan. This doesn’t excuse me for wrongdoing, but it does say that He’s perfect to work it together for His purpose. Imagine grace that big? I surely can, because as I view my life and doings, I see His ability to dependably and reliably deliver me into His hands.

Moreover we know that to those who love God, who are called according to His plan, everything that happens fits into a pattern for good. God, in His foreknowledge, chose them to bear the family likeness of His Son, that He might be the eldest of a family of many brothers. He chose them long ago; when the time came He called them, He made them righteous in His sight, and then lifted them to the splendour of life as His own sons.
