With the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving and Christmas, I completely forgot to let all of you know that Martha posted a new article on Shulamite.com, Flood of the Enemy and Standard of the Lord. Of all the New Year’s articles and posts and meditations I’ve read (and most have been just wonderful), none so perfectly frame the time ahead as Martha’s writing does. It’s an anointed vision for the new year.
Go Read This Anointed Vision for the New Year
The following is just a taste that I hope will send you running straight to the full article to read it all. From Flood of the Enemy and Standard of the Lord:
This verse keeps coming to mind in these torn-days of our world.
Isaiah 59:19 NKJV
So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.Two things are happening. The glory of the Lord is rising, but unseen. At the same time the enemy is roaring in with a flood of evil, very visible.
The unrest of our nation gives us unrest in our soul.
The uncertainly of our times is a disturbance that gnaws at our faith.
The floods of evil in this ‘present evil age’ threaten our heart’s peace.
The lies of the world order under Satan have reached the heights of the diabolical and tempt even the children of God.
We will be swept away by the flood or we will rise into Christ’s ‘standard’—His principles and holiness. There are two fields of play now. Both are very clear and utterly divided!
These times are very personal. This is your life and time, our day of destiny. We are in the world though not ‘of the world.’ We live in this dangerous age by God’s predetermined plan. And it is a puzzle of how to live as conquerors and, at the same time, make an impact against the onslaught of darkness that is rushing and flooding our world.
Hopefully that whetted your appetite for the whole thing, you all left, and no one is now reading me. If you’re still here, then delay no more. If you read only one article on the state of the world, the church, the family, and the destiny of believers, it really should be Flood of the Enemy and Standard of the Lord.
You’re right, Jennifer: anointed, indeed! I just might highlight all the places in my bible that read: “in” or “in Christ,” “Christ in you,” “in God,” etc. I praise Him that He is our life, our breath, our home.
Thank you for sharing that.
Love
I had to go immediately and read the rest. thank you so much for sharing with us. My spirit had been stirring for months and so I took the last half of December and went into solitude with Jesus and ignored the hustle and bustle of the holidays. I felt I needed to refocus and get centered again. Things just didn’t feel right in my spirit. This article confirmed what I had been feeling and further helped me to refocus and know my place in these days.
