Intermittent Fasting and Keto Diet

In my post “My Path is the Lord’s,” I spoke about my anxiety and how the Lord led me to address it. And not only was Jesus addressing my health concern, He was also attending to my heart like a perfect Shepherd. He was causing me not to just get rid of anxiety but to also express self-love. This whole journey has become one of expressing love for myself so I can love my neighbor.  Love your neighbor AS yourself. He just knows how to lead me into His perfect hands of love and care.

How this relates to my diet is that He led me to again return to a limited carb diet and to incorporate intermittent fasting as a lifestyle. What I have since learned is for a male over 40, this is the perfect course of action. It is one of the ways to maximize my performance and vitality. The process is making me more fit than I have been in a long time. Our Lord moves holistically with us. When He addresses one area, it also affects and benefits the whole.

The Path of Healing

The Path of Healing
The Lord led me to an amazing doctor who has since become a friend. From the first time I saw him, I knew we would be good friends and I had the Lord’s love for him. The whole process has been an amazing discovery of Christ, His care, and His Ways.

Looking at the morsels of food He was leading me to eat, I see now that I function best in this diet plan. Though it is not a “diet,” per se; it is following my Shepherd and eating what He says to eat. I guess the One who made my body knows perfectly how to maintain it.

Diet and Following the Lord

Diet and Following the Lord
I have total grace to follow Jesus where He leads. It isn’t a struggle to maintain because His grace is over and all around His Will in my life. The Lord has led me into a path and a way to eat. Imagine, even the food I ingest is important to Him! It is so easy to believe He is not that intimately acquainted and involved with my life, but this is just not true. He is intricately involved with every detail of my life, down to the very hairs on my head. It is fun to follow the Shepherd in this life. He makes it interesting and a continual process of discovery.

So will I always eat like this? I will as long as He leads me to do it. I’m being Shepherded in my way, which is His Way. I am not saying this path is for everyone. But our God is just as intricately involved in your life and wants to lead your steps just as profoundly. This life is for the discovery of who He is and just how He wants to express His Life through us.

The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step].
